Back-to-back podiums for Dalton Cook in Southern Thunder doubleheader at Talladega Short Track
On Friday afternoon, Dalton Cook followed the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) to kick off NASCAR weekend.
In the $5,038-to-win opener, Cook missed his marks during his time trial run and started 18th in the feature event. Dalton stormed through the field in the 40-lapper and wound up on the podium in third behind Zack Mitchell and Trey Mills.
Dalton put together a much better qualifying lap on Saturday night and then picked up a heat race win. Starting fourth in the $10,097-to-win feature, Cook landed on the podium for a second night in a row after 50 laps. He trailed race-winner Cory Hedgecock while Trey Mills completed the Top-3.
Cook is currently leading the STSDS point standings.
